Katrina Pinkney is a PA Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who holds two national, counselor certifications. Her approach is integrative, inclusive and holistic to include techniques from community, multicultural and social justice counseling orientations.
She has worked in the non-profit, public health, healthcare, and higher education sectors. Within these industries, she has encountered a diverse population to include college students, at-risk, geriatric, minority, underserved, low-income, and the disabled. Her specialties include at-risk, minority populations who have a history of trauma.
She holds a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Counseling/Student Affairs and has completed post masters coursework in clinical mental health from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
Katrina frequently participates in professional development opportunities to hone her skills and integrative techniques. Recent professional development opportunities included: immigration and refugee populations, Jeffrey Mitchell's crisis interventions for individuals and groups, fundamentals of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), opioid addiction, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed, prenatal and postpartum depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety interventions and techniques, safety and ethical issues, suicide prevention and assessment, recovery-oriented care, and diversity and cultural awareness to name a few.
Currently, Katrina is a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA), the American Counseling Association (ACA), the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - Philadelphia chapter and the American College Personnel Association (ACPA). She is affiliated with the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
